Headwear in Escape from Tarkov offers multiple purposes.
There are cosmetic items, protective helmets and utility items. Each helmet offers protection for different zones of the head, which becomes an important consideration before heading into combat.
Another important consideration to make is that different helmets will have a different impact on how much sound they muffle. Sound is an important part of the gameplay in Escape from Tarkov.
Escape from Tarkov also features modular helmets, which will influence and change the amount of zones protected by the helmet. The zones, or segments, are as follows: Top, Nape, Ears, Eyes and Jaws.
